Inspired

5 years…..  It’s almost unbelievable that today is Aaron’s 5-year anniversary. So much has happened these past 5 years! So much.  It would probably take a million pages to share it all, but I would like to share a brief update on how Noraa and I have been doing.

It is incredible to see how much Noraa has grown and changed over these past 5 years. She is such a bright light and she inspires me every single day. Her love for Jesus and love for others is extremely contagious! I tell her every day to stop growing and she always looks back at me and says, “Momma I won’t stop growing, I can’t stop growing.” So, at 5 years old here are a few of her highlights:

  • She has just lost her 5th tooth
  • She is over 4 ft tall and weighs almost 60 lbs!
  • She will be graduating from The King’s Academy Preschool this month & heading for Kindergarten
  • She was just ACCEPTED to Jupiter Christian School for Kindergarten 🙂
  • She wants to be a singer when she grows up
  • She is a lefty and an extremely creative little girl
  • A few of her favorite things are: playing with her cousins, riding her bike & her skateboard, swimming, running, school, stuffed animals, her doll house and spending time with momma.
  • The last and most amazing thing that has happened this year is that in March she accepted Jesus into her heart. We were driving to school and she asked me if Jesus makes us new and that she wanted to be made new and live with Him in heaven one day. It was one of the most beautiful moments I have ever experienced. Her innocence and true unconditional love for Jesus is inspiring.

Now, where do I begin with me?!  I’ll quickly break it down, year by year the things that I have journeyed through. The 1st year was complete survival mode, the 2nd year (by far the toughest year) was a year full of “where do I fit in and who am I now?” I struggled to fit in anywhere, I didn’t know what my place was now as a widow and a mom.  I struggled with sadness and loneliness.  Year 3 was definitely my most inspiring year.  I started to look at the past and everything we went through as an inspiration for the future instead of looking at it as a discouragement and lost dreams. With my family and friends help, I started to pick up the pieces and puzzle my life back together. I learned how to be happy again and to start using our journey as an inspiration to not only myself, but to others.

2 years ago I decided to go back to school and pursue my dream of becoming a CPA and I am SO looking forward to finally graduating with my Master of Accounting at the end of this year!  These past 2 years have been incredible growing years for both Noraa and I. God has taught us so much and He has brought so many inspiring and phenomenal people in to our lives. I also started dating again and I can say that I have definitely met one incredible man! We have been dating now for almost 9 months and I am so happy to have met someone who is so loving, patient and kind.

It definitely has not been and will not always be easy, but God is piecing our lives back together so beautifully after such a painful experience of losing someone we loved so deeply.  We are living inspired.
