Hi everyone!
So, we have some great news to share! In our last update we shared that we had decided as a family it was best for Aaron’s health that he leave his job and focus full time on his health and family. Aaron’s job wanted to help out in anyway that they could, so they decided to allow him to take a 6 week paid leave! They gave him his vacation and sick days early. We had no idea that they were going to be so generous with him. We are rejoicing in this amazing blessing! After these 6 weeks we will re-evaluate where Aaron’s health is and if we feel it is best for him to leave his job or go back to full time work status.
Also, Aaron’s new treatment is going really well! He has now had 4 rounds of the new drug and we are already seeing his pain level go down. Aaron had one of his best days this Tuesday! We spent the morning as a family up at the Jupiter pier watching the surfers! This is one of our most favorite things to do and Noraa just loves being outside enjoying the ocean breeze! Her daddy is secretly hoping she will become a little surfer girl! 🙂
During these past few weeks we have definitely experienced some highs and lows, but we are continuing to focus on our amazing God, Isaiah 33:6 reminds us that God is our constant source of stability. We are truly seeking Him and His will for our lives. One of our main prayer requests is that we will be able to remain focused on God and not on cancer. Psalm 55:16-18 is really helping us stay focused on God and not our situation, “But I will call on God, and the Lord will rescue me. Morning, noon and night I cry out in distress, and the Lord hears my voice. He ransoms me and keeps me safe from the battle waged against me, though many still oppose me.”
I am also studying the book of James in my women’s ministry group and it has helped us look at our situation in a new light. James 1:2-3 says that we should consider it a great joy whenever we experience various trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces endurance. As a family we are choosing to consider our trial as a great joy, consider our trial as a blessing because it reminds us that we need God everyday and consider our trail as an opportunity to bring glory to God!
Our Prayer Requests:
1. Aaron’s appetite: Aaron’s weight is a big focus for us. Please pray that his appetite will increase and he will be able to gain weight! We are hoping to see him gain at least a pound a week.
2. Aaron’s pain: Please pray that his pain level will remain to decrease as we progress with this new drug.
3. The new chemotherapy: Please pray that this new drug is working in Aaron’s body to kill EVERY cancer cell. (Also Aaron receives this IV weekly so please pray that blood work remains strong and he is able to receive each treatment).
4. Nausea and other side effects: Please pray specifically for his nausea and that he will not experience too many side effects with this new treatment.
5. Overall attitude: Pray for Aaron to keep a positive attitude and to look to God as his source of strength to fight this battle.
THANK YOU all so much for constantly lifting our family up in prayer. We are so grateful for the love and support that we have received! 🙂
Love-
Aaron, Suzanne & Noraa
