Hi family and friends!
Aaron & I have decided to fast this weekend and spend our time in prayer before our upcoming appointment with Aaron’s oncologist Dr. Merchan on Monday, September 12th for Aaron’s results of his scans.
Since neither one of us can really “fast” food we have decided to fast TV for this weekend (and yes we know that it is OPENING WEEKEND for football!) We tried to think of something that would really be a sacrifice and no football on opening weekend is pretty BIG! Lol!
We wanted to let you know about our weekend fast in hopes that you would decide to join us in fasting and prayer this weekend. We want to really draw closer to God & surrender everything we have to Him. We want Him to know that we are putting Him first in EVERY area of our lives. God promises that following Him leads to hope and an established future. Psalm 31:19 says, “How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which you have wrought for those who take refuge in You, before the sons of men!”
Below are some Bible verses that we have been focusing on:
- Romans 12:12
- “…rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,”
- Matthew 8:17
- “This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases.”
- 1 Peter 2:24
- “…and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”
- John 15:7
- “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
- 1 John 5:4-5
- “Every child of God can defeat the world, and it is our FAITH that gives us the victory…”
- Lamentations 3:22-25
- “The Lord’s loving-kindness indeed never cease, for His compassion’s never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your Faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have Hope in Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him.”
Love,
Aaron & Suzanne
