Aaron has spent the last week at home healing from his surgery. He had a followup appointment with the surgeon last Tuesday. At that time he said that Aaron was coming along really well and feels he is ready for the next step, which is surgical radiation treatment in the neck area. This procedure is to take care of any clean up that the surgeon was unable to remove.
On Thursday, he went back down to Miami and met with the radiologist. The meeting was very informative regarding the procedure and the machine that will be used called Cyber Knife. The anticipated time for treatment to begin is this Thursday and Friday, as well as the following week. This of course is pending insurance approval.
After the radiologist appointment Aaron met with his oncologist, Dr. Merchan. This appointment was very informative as well. A very detailed plan of attack was constructed using systemic treatment.
Specific Prayer Requests:
- Insurance will approve the Cyber Knife Radiation Treatment.
- The radiation will sterilize areas in the spine so that the tumors shrink & do not progress.
- Aaron’s body will respond positively to all treatments.
- Side effects will be minimal (or none) and Aaron will stay strong & healthy.
